Yes they SHOULD have 2 years ago. He's not worth more than a bag of pucks now. I might be convinced to throw in a roll of hockey tape.

The guy is obviously on the decline big time unless hes showing something different this season I haven't watched him? I doubt very much anyone is giving up a helluva lot for him at this point.

in ths magical land of unicorns where do these moves get made? there is a salary cap in place which means much has to be done to make such moves in the first place.

everyone thinks you can just blow a team up and then viola after a decade or more of misety become the next hawks.

Buffalo has the cap space.

They will give them mike Weber and David Legwand to offset it.

Would Buffalo be willing to take Chara for three seasons? Boston would take that deal in a heartbeat. Weber and Legwand are FA's at the end of the season. Buffalo would have two more years of paying Chara (nearly 11 million during that time).

Totally true with the big salary hit and declining skills; but it's hard to bail on stars players as they age out. Had they moved him two years ago, it would have been wildly unpopular but likely quite beneficial. Who wouldn't have wanted him at the trade deadline?

Buffalo has the cap space.

He would be a great mentour for the young guys we have. Plus his contract is up just in time for Eichel, Reinhart etc to get new contracts.

He would be better than Mike Weber.

But Weber is gone after this year... I just don't see the point in acquiring Chara to play a mentoring role to offensive players. If you're looking for a mentor to your offensive guys let me introduce you to Johan Franzen...

Chara would be a mentor to Risto, Pysyk, McCabe. Calder winning, cupp winning D-men are never bad to have around the room.

Plus it gets Mike Weber off of this team.

We will take Franzen too, take McGinn.

Chara was far from a Calder winning defenseman. When we drafted him he could barely skate.

Lol. Wow dude you don't hold your own D in much regard do you? If Chara was in Montreal guess who he would be teamed up with? Subban that's who, on your top pairing. Says alot about the Habs "bag of pucks" defencemen doesn't it?

If gets traded to pretty much any team he is on the top line with only maybe one or two expections.

they should cut Chara up into little pieces and smoke him, then sell him to Bs fans so you can all eat him and have a little piece of his soul forever
